2022 Festival

We are excited to announce our 2022 Tuba Bach Festival!

All concerts are presented free of charge PRICELESS ENTERTAINMENT!

Saturdays at 7:00 PM and Sundays at 4:00 PM

September 10 & 11 – Two Pianists

Two pianists — Alvin Waddles and Noah Mallett — along with percussionist David Hall, join Ed in a program blending together two genres, classical and jazz, featuring two sonatas by Claude Bolling and a ballet (sorry, no tutus) by Dave Brubeck.

September 17 & 18 – Eight tubas and euphoniums, plus a piano!

Eight tubas and euphoniums, plus a piano! Six collegiate tuba and euphonium students from around the state join Phil Sinder and Ed, along with pianist Derek Kealii Polischuk, and conductor Richard Scott Cohen, in a concert too big to be missed!

September 24 & 25 – Dyad

Dyad — two amazing singer-instrumentalists! David Thorne Scott and Mark Shilansky, both faculty members from Boston’s famed Berklee College of Music, join Ed in a program ranging from folk to classical to Beatles to 80’s pop, all viewed through a jazz lens.

October 1 & 2 – Two Malletts

Two Malletts — Noah and Ed — present a series of classical works arranged by Noah for marimba and euphonium, including compositions by J. S. Bach, Frédéric Chopin, Camille Saint-Saëns, and Astor Pantaleón Piazzolla.

October 8 & 9 – Alfreda Burke and Rodrick Dixon

Alfreda Burke and Rodrick Dixon — two of Tuba Bach’s favorite singers, along with pianist Alvin Waddles — join Ed in exploring their respective early experiences in church music, and how that has helped to shape each of them into the musicians they are today.

October 15 & 16 – Two unbelievable musicians, two life-changers, each too amazing for words!

Two unbelievable musicians, two life-changers, each too amazing for words! Canadian harmonica virtuoso Mike Stevens and master percussionist Kevin Bujo Jones bring their two worlds together joining Ed on an incredible musical journey and finale to the 2022 Tuba Bach festival!
