The one and only Heywood Banks returned to Big Rapids for the 2023 Tuba Bach Christmas Concert on Sunday, December 17 at Immanuel Lutheran Church.  Heywood Banks is simply one-of-a-kind, almost impossible to describe, with a style his very own.  Equal parts genius and buffoon, the songwriter-comic-singer-poet-musician has become a cult hero and a pop icon, performing across the country with shows that appeal to college students, stoners, businessmen, yuppies, rednecks, punks, kids, or your grandmother.  In the summer of 2022, Ed joined Heywood in the recording studio for several tracks on Heywood’s recently released “New Holiday Standards” CD, featuring songs such as Dearest Mr. Santa Claus, The Ghost of Christmas Steve, Scandinavian Baby, and Rudy the Bioluminescent Reindeer.  If you were there, I hope you had as much fun as we did!  If you missed it, check out the video here!
